For as long as I can remember, my Mom’s best friend has come to visit us in Mobile from Chicago once a year, and we would go stay at the beach. Often, Lindsay would tag along. This time, we stayed at the The Lodge at Gulf State Park, a Hilton Hotel and we loved it. They rebuilt after Katrina, and it’s eco-friendly and fairly accessible, which is hard to find in Alabama. We went out for lunch and dinner, but because it’s part of the state parks system, you can eat on site. Over all, it was a much needed relaxing experience after pandemic times.
